The GNU General Public License , better known by its English name GNU General Public License or just its initials in English GNU GPL is a license created by the Free Software Foundation in 1989 (the first version), and is aimed primarily at protect free distribution, modification and use of software . Its purpose is to declare that the software covered by this license is free software and protect ownership attempts to restrict these freedoms to users. There are several licenses
"sisters" of the GPL, as license GNU Free Documentation (GFDL), the Open Audio License for musical works, etc., and other less restrictive, as mgpl , or LGPL (Lesser General License publish it before publish it General License Library), which enable dynamic binding of free applications to non-free applications.
The GPL, as a document that gives certain rights to the user, takes the form of a contract, which usually is called a license agreement or license agreement. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] In Anglo-Saxon countries there is a doctrinal distinction between licenses and contracts, but this does not happen in civil law countries or continental. As a contract, the GPL must meet the legal requirements of contract formation in each jurisdiction.
The license has been recognized by courts in Germany , particularly in the case of a sentence in a Munich court , [ 3 ] positively indicating their validity in civil law jurisdictions.
Most free licenses such as MIT License and GPL is compatible with the GPL (see complete list of external links.) This means you can combine code licensed under GPL with code that is under a compatible license without any problem because the resulting code must satisfy the conditions of both licenses. However, others described as free licenses are not compatible with the GPL, which makes the reuse of code; therefore it encourages free software developers to license their code under GPL or GPL-compatible licenses, and can take advantage of the benefits that entails.
There is a proliferation of free licenses that add some condition to another compatible with the GPL license (which they are based), making it difficult to determine whether the new license is compatible or not with the GPL. This necessitates the use of experts, which was what initially was intended to avoid, so do not recommend this practice. (Source: Wikipedia )

Miro (aka Democracy Player during development and subsequent launch in July of 2007 2) is a computer TV by Internet, developed by the Participatory Culture Foundation (PCF). You can automatically download videos from RSS-based channels , manage, and play. Miro is designed to integrate with other PCF products such as Video Bomb, a social bookmarking website of videos, and the Channel Channel, a TV guide for Internet television.
Miro Player is based on XULRunner , and free software and free. is available for operating systems Microsoft Windows , GNU / Linux and Mac OS X , and integrates an RSS aggregator a BitTorrent client and VLC media player (or Xine Media Player under GNU / Linux).
version of Miro Player for Mac OS X uses as Quicktime playback component, instead of using a playback component and decodifiación free.
Available from 10 February 2009, the 2.0 version of Miro is characterized by having a better interface, faster downloads and better performance Torrents that comes from the hand of a lower memory usage. Best of all is that from now on, the program automatically detects the availability of content in high definition (HD) when downloading videos, which obviously greatly improve the outcome.
JomSocial is one of these modules, we solve a task very fashionable these days, that is, we will add functionality to our social web site as easy as possible.
![]()
This module has all general features that we need to create a social network:
- User Registration, with the option to manage the fields for each profile.
- Send and receive private messages between users.
- Create different user groups.
- storage media, such as photographs or videos.
- external application support in the style of Facebook.
The application is not free, but it is priced at $ 149, but assures us that if within 30 days more than ever we are not satisfied, give us back our money. Everything is weighing whether deserved or not worth spending the money on this application.
In Joomla! include features such as: improving web performance, printable versions of pages, flash news, blogs, forums, polls (surveys), calendars, web site search and language internationalization. His name is a phonetic spelling for the Swahili word Anglophone jumla , which means "together" or "as a whole." Was chosen as a reflection of the commitment of the group of developers and project community.
my opinion: I just created two sites with Joomla, very intuitive, simple, soon I promise a more formed opinion
| can happen, l fter having put his hand where he should not, your desktop been misconfigured. To return to initial setup, you will need to completely erase the folder where you saved the GNOME configuration files for it to rebuild. |

New Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
What is Ubuntu?
Ubuntu (IPA: / ubuntu /) is a Linux distribution based on Debian GNU / Linux that provides an updated and stable operating system for the average user, with a strong focus on ease of use and installation of the system. Like other distributions are composed of multiple software packages typically distributed under a free license or open source. It is sponsored by Canonical Ltd., a British company owned by South African entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth that instead of selling for profit distribution, is financed through operating system-related services and selling support. Furthermore, by keeping it free of charge, the company is able to leverage developers community in improving the components of your operating system. Canonical also supports and provides support for four derivatives of Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Edubuntu and Xubuntu Ubuntu server-oriented ("Ubuntu Server Edition." Every six months a new release of Ubuntu which is supported by Canonical, for eighteen months, by means of security updates, patches for critical bugs and minor updates of programs. The LTS (Long Term Support), which is released every two years, three years are supported in the desktop and five server-oriented edition. The current version of Ubuntu 9.10 ("Karmic" is released on October 29, 2009 and the next version, 10.04 (code name: Lucid Lynx), scheduled to be released on April 29, 2010.
's New? Ubuntu
10.04 Lucid was released to the public on April 29, 2010, and incorporates "Ubuntu One Music Store allows music purchased on the Internet more easily which is complemented by default support for the popular iPhone and iPod touch. Regarding connectivity features a notification system called "MeMenu" which makes managing different social networks, email and instant messaging. On the software side include version 2.0 of the Software Center Ubuntu Synaptic replacing, given the right to install individual packages and be able to monitor the PPA repositories that we have.
also includes a beginner-friendly manual will be updated with each new version of Ubuntu, and after nearly four years, Ubuntu has a new visual theme for windows desktop, a new logo and a new startup screen. In more technical terms we can mention the inclusion of series free driver Nouveau nVidia graphics card and the complete elimination of HAL, for DeviceKit, which results in an improvement in startup time. Also works with version 06/02/1932 Linux kernel and version 2.30 of the GNOME desktop.
Installation - Requirements
According to official documentation that the system would be working if you meet these minimum specifications:
* Processor: 300 MHz x86. * RAM: 64 MB. * Hard Drive: 4GB (for a complete installation including swap). * VGA graphics card. * CD-ROM or network card.
The previous team is already possible to install as a server, but is unlikely to do so fluently in a desktop computer so that the minimum recommended specifications are:
* Processor: 700 MHz x86 or x86-64. * RAM: 384 MB. * Hard Disk: 8GB. Graphics card capable of supporting a resolution of 1024x768. Sound card. * Internet connection.
And if you want to have desktop effects provided by Compiz, then the minimum processor power amounted to 1.2 GHz and must have a compatible graphics card.
My opinion: waiting to be downloaded and installed ...
